Journal of Medical and Biological Research is a peer-reviewed scientific periodical. Until 1 January 2017 the journal’s name was Vestnik of Northern (Arctic) Federal University. Series “Medical and Biological Sciences” Founder and publisher: Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov”. The journal’s aim is to publish practical and theoretical results of research within medical and biological sciences, including those within the Arctic subject area.
The journal’s mission is to highlight the problems of adaptation of living systems to environmental and sociomedical factors, including those in the circumpolar areas, and to exchange information with the international scientific community in the field of human and animal physiology, as well as occupational and rehabilitation medicine.

The journal is included by the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in the list of reviewed scientific journals, in which major scientific results of theses for academic degrees of candidate and doctor of science have to be published. The Journal is assigned to Category 2 on the Commission’s list. We publish articles in Russian and English. The journal is issued quarterly (since 2013) and publishes key research results in the following fields (according to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 59 of February 25, 2009 “On Approval of the Nomenclature of Scientific Specialities for Which Academic Degrees Are Awarded (as amended on December 14, 2015)”:
