Abstract
The antitoxic effects of adaptation to changing oxygen levels were investigated in the model of low dose intoxication by benzene and chromium as simulation of anthropogenic pollution. Protective effect of adaptation to hypoxia/hyperoxia is manifested in prevention of: animal weight reduction, decline in physical endurance, increase in lipid peroxidation, activation of transcription factor HIF-1α synthesis and its downstream HSPs. The results of this study demonstrate remarkable potentialities of the protective effect of adaptation to hypoxia/hyperoxia at the prenosological stage of chronic intoxication to low doses of toxicants for people working in industry or those living in the regions with anthropogenic pollution.
