Abstract

The study found a decrease in all components of life quality in 75–89-year-old women who have experienced two or more falls compared to women of the same age who have not had any falls during the year. The results obtained suggest that development of falls in old women will have a negative effect on their successful ageing. The study proves it necessary to introduce a general life quality monitoring in the medical and social work with the elderly as well as a new program aimed to prevent falls in elderly and old women. Such preventive measures will improve their quality of life and extend their lifespan.
