Troitskiy, Arkhangelsk, 163051, Russian Federation; е-mail: gudkovab@nsmu.ru AbstractThis article points out key research areas of the scientific school of the Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, Honoured Worker of Russian Higher Education, Emeritus Professor of Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Anatoly V. Gribanov. An important area of Gribanov’s scientific school are studies in the field of developmental and environmental physiology. Within this framework, numerous research studies have been conducted into heart bioelectrical activity, cardiac hemodynamics, hemodynamics in men at local cooling, DC potentials, external respiration, cerebral blood vessels in health and in chronic alcohol intoxication, microcirculation, human metabolic and hormonal status in the European North of Russia. Among other areas of research the following can be named: adaptive response of the female body under extreme conditions; growth, development and physical activity of children and adolescents; functional state of the body of first-year students of technical universities. Another research area of Gribanov’s scientific school lies in the field of sports physiology. Within this area, six theses for the degrees of doctor and candidate of biological sciences have been defended, while within clinical physiology and psychophysiology, 12 candidate theses. A.V. Gribanov and his students have been developing a new area of research, namely physiological mechanisms of formation of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. Here, five theses for the degrees of candidate of medical and biological sciences have been defended.
