Abstract

The study involved 149 men from subpolar and polar areas of the European North. Men from the subpolar region had higher levels of estradiol, sperm antibodies and dopamine in the presence of lower levels of follicle stimulating hormone than the inhabitants of the polar region. Men from the polar region had higher content of free testosterone and SHBG in the presence of a lower level of dopamine as compared to the inhabitants of the subpolar region.

Keywords

sex hormones, dopamine, anti-sperm antibodies, dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate, sex hormone binding β-globulin.
